Freckles On Your Iris and Melanoma

Researchers have found that the number of freckles on the coloured iris of the eye is a strong indictor of your risk for melanoma. They found 3 or more iris ‘freckles’ were associated with a 45% increased risk of melanoma. The associated risk was particularly seen in participants under 40 and reflected a possible genetic susceptibility for melanoma.
