Peninsula Skin Cancer Centre’s Dr Sally Shaw will be joining Jay Allen in Brisbane on the 5th of March 2017 to start the biggest melanoma fundraising event to date: The Longest Melanoma March, 1200kms from Brisbane to Sydney.
Jay Allen, stage 3 melanoma survivor and advocate at Melanoma Institute Australia, had a previous fundraising event in 2015, walking 900kms from Sydney to Melbourne with his mate Andrew Rust. PSCC was honoured to support Jay and Andrew by performing 900 skin checks during their event, detecting 18 melanomas, and donating $5000 to Melanoma Institute.
This year Sally will be walking the first day with Jay, departing from Brisbane, and raising some much needed funds for melanoma research. Peninsula Skin Cancer Centre will also be performing 1200 skin checks over the 29 day event and dedicating $1 from each skincheck to go to our fundraising total.
You can support Jay and Sally by sponsoring Sally at her Go Fund Me page at: https://thelongestmelanomamarch.gofundraise.com.au/page/SallySavage or by donating directly to Melanoma Institute www.melanoma.org.au or by booking for a skin check with us during the event.
Best wishes to Jay and Sally, hope the weather is kind to you 🙂
