Dr Sally and The Longest Melanoma March – Day 1

Peninsula Skin Cancer Centre’s Dr Sally Shaw stepped up to the challenge and walked 48kms for a cure for melanoma.

Dr Sally, pictured with Carol Renouf – CEO of Melanoma Institute Australia, joined Jay Allen and crew at Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane on Sunday 5th of March for the start of The Longest Melanoma March 2017. Sally walked the entire day with Jay, walking close to 48 kms from Brisbane to Stapylton in 30+ degree heat! Thankfully there were plenty of support staff on hand keeping their fluids up and including a masseuse to massage the tired legs.

Sally is back in the clinic and now working on our commitment to perform 1200 skin checks whilst Jay continues to walk 1200 kms. After week 3 and 999 skin checks down, the clinic is on track to complete the 1200 skin checks in time for the finish line of The Longest Melanoma March in Sydney on 2nd of April. PSCC will be donating $1 per 1200 skin checks to Melanoma Institute Australia.

Sally’s Go Fund Me account is still open for another week, so please consider donating to Sally’s account with all fund raising going to Melanoma Institute. Link: http://bit.ly/GoFundSally
